Sourced from the near-legendary status as the “birthplace” of Arabica coffee, Ethiopia heralds a robust and full flavoured coffee region. Coffee was literally made to thrive in the lush environment Yirgacheffe’s forests, allowing floral characteristics, articulate sweetness and sparkling acidity nuances to develop in the coffee. This specific Heirloom variety is farmed at 1900 – 2050 MSAL. Interesting note – there is esimtated between six and ten thousand coffee varietals in Ethiopia, as such the generic term of Heirloom is used to identify this Arabica bean.
Washed – wet pulping method is used, where both the skin and pulp are fully removed. The beans are then air dried naturally on raised African beds.
